Cynon valley P.A.L.S can only provide this invaluable service through it's volunteers and supporters. All of the money we receive goes directly to helping provide our service to both special needs children and their families. We value all the help and donations that we receive. Who we help and what we do
Cynon Valley P.A.L.S works with both special needs children and their families to offer respite care. The children we work with range from 3 to 11 years and participate in organised activities and day trips. The children are taken on trips daily to parks, leisure centres, adventure playgrounds, farms and soft play centres. The children gain confidence as they participate in team games and attempt new activities with the support of volunteers.
Why what we do is so important
Caring for someone can be a full-time job and families benefit from the activities provided as they look forward to a well-earned break, to avoid anyone becoming ill, anxious or depressed and the children also benefit from short breaks as much as their families. Caring for a child with a disability can be stressful and demanding for families. The service we provide offers families some respite, often giving them time to spend with siblings.
